VOV.VN - As many as 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide morning are poised to visit President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and commemorate heroes and martyrs before becoming involved in a preparatory meeting on January 25 morning at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.

The number of delegates represents an increase of nearly 80 delegates against the 12th Congress and the highest number among the 13 congresses. Among the delegates, 13.99% are women, and 11.03 % are ethnic minorities.
The preparatory meeting is designed to finalize necessary preparations for the opening ceremony of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, set to transpire on the morning of January 26.
The 13th National Party Congress is held at a time when the Party, people and army have successfully implemented many guidelines, objectives and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress.
The content and working agenda of the 13th Congress will focus on reviewing the implementation of the 12th Congress’s Resolution in association with the assessment of the 35-year renewal, 30 years implementing the 1991 Platform, 10 years implementing the 2011 Platform (amended) and the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy, while outlining the socio-economic development orientations and tasks for 2021 - 2025, as well as the goals and orientations for 2030 and the national development vision to 2045. This Congress will also review the Party building work and the leadership of the 12th Party Central Committee, and elect a new Party Central Committee for the 13th tenure.
The congress's political report touches upon strengthening Party building and rectification towards building a clean and strong political and reinforcing great national solidarity.
The report also underscores the need to continue to promote comprehensively and synchronously the process of renewal, and national construction and protection with a view to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment while striving to develop Vietnam into a socialist oriented developed nation in the middle of the 21st century.
The Congress will elect the 2021-2026 Central Party Committee, the highest governing body of the Party.
